Genentech Facility Shutdown
PROJECT DETAILS
Intersect provided expert management and oversight for 32 construction projects, all of which had to be executed within a strict 2-week window to support the product transition for manufacturing the drug Avastin. Drawing on our extensive experience in coordinating complex, multi-project initiatives, the leadership team at Intersect engaged in six months of rigorous planning. This included developing scopes of work, defining tasks and durations, and performing detailed risk assessments.
Collaborating closely with up to six project management and contractor teams, as well as numerous internal departments—Maintenance, QC, Validation, Upstream, Downstream, and more—Intersect’s ability to orchestrate multiple partners and projects was key to the success of the initiative. Our in-depth pre-planning and seamless coordination ensured the successful execution of all tasks, earning the project recognition as the 2007 ISPE/Interphex Facility of the Year Winner for Project Execution. This achievement underscores Intersect’s proven expertise in managing complex, time-sensitive projects while maintaining excellence across all teams and stakeholders.
