Explora Biolab: San Diego

This 9,000 SF vivarium build-out at the San Diego Tech Center transforms an existing building’s core and shell, located in the parking level, into an optimal space for vivarium-based research. Designed with both office and lab functionality, the construction provides secure, shared access to the docking bay and service elevator for streamlined operations.

The vivarium boasts its own dedicated air handler unit and a secure entrance/exit, ensuring controlled access from the rest of the building. The basement was converted into lab space in place of parking, with added utilities and building support systems to meet research needs.

Intersect provided budget and schedule management, as well as coordinated low voltage and FF&E systems, ensuring the project was delivered efficiently and on time.
