Springhill Suites by Marriott Houston Med Center / NRG Stadium

This hotel was in need of overdue renovation to keep the Marriott SpringHill Suites brand and meet guest expectations.

Project improvements included all 190 rooms, back of the house kitchen, break rooms, offices, lobby, and guest common areas. Elevator, mechanical and electrical room upgrades were also completed. A new porte-cochère was installed in front of the hotel and the parking lot underwent resurfacing and restriping.

The GC & Design team was sought out and retained for the project, budget forecasting and actual cost analysis were performed, as well as Pay App review and approvals. Architectural drawings were reviewed and approved, in addition to facilitation of design approval by the Marriott franchise.

Construction was done floor by floor, beginning with the top floor and finishing with common areas and lobby construction, so the hotel could remain open during the renovation. Rooms were upgraded with improved ADA accommodations for guests undergoing long term treatment at the nearby Medical Center, including rooms with roll in showers for guests using wheelchairs.
