Sanford Consortium for Regenerative Medicine
PROJECT DETAILS
This 150,000 SF, 4-story cast-in-place concrete laboratory structure serves as a research collaborative between UCSD, La Jolla Institute for Allergy & Immunology, the Salk Institute, and the Sanford Burnham Prebys Medical Discovery Institute. This building includes a 24,000 SF vivarium. A separate 2-story steel-framed structure includes a café and 150-seat auditorium. This project was certified LEED Gold.
As a result of this project being funded publicly via CIRM, as well as through private donations, and being located on University of California San Diego property, management efforts for this project were focused on investor representation, with a scope of services that included monthly reporting on cash flow spend vs. work-in-place, contract and cost consulting, and change order oversight. Additional scope included move management to develop an RFP to adequately select a move company and coordinate the moves of 28 research groups from four different institutions.
