Explora Biolabs- Spectrum 3
PROJECT DETAILS
The Explora Biolabs Spectrum 3 tenant improvement project is an 8,195 square foot marvel nestled within the lowest subterranean level of a newly constructed building in Torrey Pines. Despite the challenges of building in such a unique location, Intersect skillfully orchestrated the project, bringing together the right teams to anticipate and overcome obstacles, ensuring a seamless and efficient build-out.
This state-of-the-art facility features 11 specialized holding rooms, 8 procedure rooms, and 3 lab support spaces, including a necropsy suite, as well as a glass wash and autoclave room. The project’s complexity was heightened by the simultaneous coordination of core and shell work alongside the tenant improvements, all while tailoring every aspect to meet Explora’s specific needs. With DPR Construction as the General Contractor and DGA as the Architect, this underground vivarium is a testament to customized innovation, where advanced low voltage systems and FF&E coordination were integrated flawlessly. This project reflects the epitome of precision and adaptability in a cutting-edge research environment.
