Organogenesis, Inc.: Facility Shutdown & Relocation
PROJECT DETAILS
Organogenesis, Inc. embarks on an ambitious project at their expansive 100,000 SQ FT facility in Torrey Pines, owned by Alexandria. This complex undertaking focuses on the meticulous decommissioning of the building while safeguarding ongoing manufacturing operations. The scope of work involves the engagement of a skilled environmental consultant to manage critical aspects like deactivating permits, comprehensive decontamination, and the safe removal of emergency generators. Adding to the complexity, over 1,000 pieces of equipment and 40 employees will be relocated and coordinated with precision.
Phased decommissioning ensures a smooth transition, safeguarding operations as the facility prepares for final production closeout. This includes GMP facility decommissioning, handling hazardous waste disposal, and securing permit closures, all leading to a seamless building turnover to the landlord. With careful attention to every detail, the project unfolds as an impressive blend of strategic planning, environmental stewardship, and operational efficiency.
