Facility Relocation: Organogenesis, Inc.

PROJECT DETAILS
Organogenesis, Inc. embarked on an ambitious project at their expansive 100,000 SQ FT facility in Torrey Pines, owned by Alexandria. This complex undertaking focused on the meticulous decommissioning of the building while safeguarding ongoing manufacturing operations. The scope of work involved the engagement of a skilled environmental consultant to manage critical aspects like deactivating permits, comprehensive decontamination, and the safe removal of emergency generators. Adding to the complexity, over 1,000 pieces of equipment and 40 employees were relocated and coordinated with precision.
Phased decommissioning ensured a smooth transition, safeguarding operations as the facility prepared for final production closeout. This included GMP facility decommissioning, handling hazardous waste disposal, and securing permit closures, all leading to a seamless building turnover to the landlord. With careful attention to every detail, the project unfolded as an impressive blend of strategic planning, environmental stewardship, and operational efficiency.
