BendBroadband Vault
PROJECT DETAILS
This 30,000 SF pre-engineered warehouse building was converted to a high performing co-location data center facility for BendBroadband. Incorporating state-of-the-art design and achieving Tier 3 certification by the Uptime Institute, this facility earned energy conservation awards and incentives from the State, and USGBC notoriety for being one of the first data centers in the country to achieve a high level of certification. Mechanically, Kyoto cooling was introduced, which allowed the whitespace to take advantage of the local climate and utilize heat transfer and removal through a heat wheel. Electrically, flywheel UPS units were introduced. After a GC RFP process, the team agreed to employ a Portland GC with a partnership relationship with a local GC, to assist in pulling local labor together.
